Bukavu : Mwangaza Hope Celebrates Academic Excellence and Supports Underprivileged Students

A joyful atmosphere filled the La Charité Divine School Complex on Thursday, July 2, 2026, during the announcement of the 2025–2026 academic results. On this occasion, the Mwangaza Hope NGO made a significant contribution to both the students and the school.

The organization honored the top-performing pupil in each primary school class. Each recipient was awarded a Mwangaza Hope-branded school bag as a way of encouraging academic excellence and perseverance.

However, the NGO’s support went even further. According to Badaga Donatien, the head of the school, Mwangaza Hope also covered the tuition fees of several children from financially disadvantaged families throughout the past school year.

« This support is a real relief for parents. These are people who came from outside with no other interest than seeing our students succeed », he told the press.

The school director added that the donated school bags would also have a practical impact when classes resume, as they would help reduce back-to-school expenses for many families.

During the closing ceremony, Badaga Donatien also addressed the students, encouraging them to assist their parents at home during the holidays while continuing to review their lessons regularly to maintain their academic progress.

« Take good care of your textbooks. Don’t let what you’ve learned fade away before the new school year begins », he advised.

Some students will take part in internship programs during the holiday break, while the new school term is scheduled to begin on August 5.

The event concluded in a warm and festive atmosphere. Songs, recitations, poems, traditional dances, and comedy performances by young local artists entertained parents, teachers, and invited guests.

La Charité Divine is the second school to benefit from this initiative. A few days earlier, the NGO had already distributed school bags, biscuits, and other gifts to pupils of GS Ecopa/Bwato during their own end-of-year results ceremony.

Through these two initiatives—rewarding academic excellence and providing financial support—Mwangaza Hope aims to make quality education and academic success accessible even to children from the most vulnerable families.
